# Bridge

*Move VCHF or VGBP from one supported blockchain to another without leaving the platform — the token is burned on the source chain and an equal amount is minted on the destination chain.*

## Overview

VCHF and VGBP are the same logical asset deployed across multiple chains. The Bridge lets you relocate a holding from one of those chains to another — for example VCHF on Ethereum to VCHF on Base, or VGBP on Solana to VGBP on Celo — in a single platform operation.

The Bridge uses a **burn-and-mint** model: the amount you bridge is burned on the source chain and the identical amount is minted to your address on the destination chain. No wrapped or synthetic representation is created, and total supply across all chains is unchanged — every bridged token remains 100% fiat-backed by the same reserves.

## Key benefits

* **Native asset on every chain** — you always hold canonical VCHF or VGBP, never a wrapped or IOU version; the token minted on the destination chain is the same contract integrators already use.
* **Supply-neutral and par-backed** — burn-and-mint keeps circulating supply constant and fully reserve-backed; bridging never changes the peg or the backing.
* **Chain choice without off-ramping** — reposition between chains to follow liquidity, cheaper settlement rails, or a counterparty's preferred network, without converting to fiat and back.
* **Compliance built in** — bridge operations run through the same AML/ATF, sanctions-screening, and (where applicable) Travel Rule controls as every other transfer.

## How it works

You request a bridge of a given amount from a source chain to a destination chain among the supported deployments. After compliance screening, VNX burns that amount on the source chain and mints the equal amount to your destination address under the standard M-of-N signing quorum. Because the operation is a burn followed by a mint — not a transfer of an existing balance — it settles independently on each chain.

Supported bridge routes track the chains on which each token is live; VCHF and VGBP have different chain coverage, so available source/destination pairs differ per token. Bridge fees are not yet published, so confirm current pricing before quoting to a client.
